The Story Behind This Product
Palestinian women are famous for their traditional embroidery work called tatreez. These make up pouches or accessory bags feature fun designs in beautiful colors so that you can keep a piece of Palestine close to you. This is handcrafted by Manjel ma Qoud, a women's embroidery group we formed in January of 2024 in response to the increasing pressure Palestinian women are under due to the ongoing and increasing Israeli closures and suffocation of the Palestinian economy. These designs are only available through Handmade Palestine and through your purchase, we are supporting 10 women and their families.

Handmade Palestine is more than a social enterprise.
It's a heartfelt project that functions like a non-profit, dedicated to uplifting Palestinian artisans and preserving their rich cultural heritage.
Our mission is simple: to bring the finest fairly traded Palestinian handicrafts to international markets while empowering the artisans behind them. We proudly collaborate with over 30 artisan groups, women's cooperatives, and designers across Palestine—impacting hundreds of lives.
Though based in Ramallah, Handmade Palestine reaches out across the country, connecting with artisans from all regions. Our initiative has grown out of the dedication of volunteers who believe in doing good for both the artisans we partner with and the community at large.
